Question
Can we use Insight 5.x for KAFTA 1.2?
Answer
Although Insight 5.2/5.3/5.3.1 ware released after KAFTA 1.2.0, it can also be used for this version of KAFTA. But after installing/upgrading you will have to perform extra steps:
- Please, ensure that the ConsolidatedReporting module had been copied into folder with name ‘KAFTA’ (another name is not supported)
- The 'KAFTA' folder should be placed in ‘root’ folder of installed Insight only (e.g. C:\Program Files\Kofax\Insight 5.2.0, for Insight 5.2, etc.); other options are not allowed.
- Please, make sure the ConsolidatedReporting module is available by path, specified in both 'Minute Hourly Plan' and 'Hourly Execution plan' .
- Open Studio
- Open 'Execution Plans > Hourly Execution Plan'
- For step 'Execution Batch File', make sure 'File' property has correct path to 'Hourly.bat' file of ConsolidatedReporting package and fix it, if necessary (see screenshot)
- Save changes
- Repeat steps 3 and 4 for 'Execution Plans > Minute Execution Plan' (see screenshot)
-
You also have to modify Schedule options for the 'Hourly Execution Plan' to the avoid possible deletion of data from the KAFTA database
-
- Open Studio
- Open 'Execution Plans > Hourly Execution Plan'
- Click on 'Schedule options'
- Change the 'From date' property to the 'To date minus' option, and specify 7 days.(see screenshot)
- Save changes
Then all will should properly.
One more thing, eventually you can see some error messages in Consolidated.log file, such as:
2015-12-01 18:15:22,506 [1] ERROR Can`t deserialize document. Name=Administrator Resources Category=View
System.InvalidOperationException: There is an error in XML document (5153, 10). ---> System.InvalidOperationException: The specified type was not recognized: name='ExtendedCategorizedChartAppearance', namespace='', at <BaseComponentAppearance xmlns=''>.
Actually that isn't a problem, it'sjust ConsolidatedReporting cannot deserialize some objects (views) , but it doesn't use them during dataload. You can ignore such errors.
