What do Edit and View modes do in Insight?

 

Solution

This feature is activated when the High Availability option is enabled.

These two modes bias the Insight web data service. When in View mode, the data service is biased to serve dashboards to users to maximize performance. This mode will disable options in Admin and Studio applications, however, it will not disable existing features used in the environment.

 

Edit mode allows for editing of projects in Studio and settings in Admin. This mode maximizes performance for those respective components and users may notice slower performance with dashboards if developers / admins are editing projects or changing settings.
