Why does my Insight 5.X (i.e. 5.1, 5.2, 5.3, 5.4, etc.) “AltoSoft.Insight.Scheduler.exe.config” file shows a "SchedulerPort" value of "13501", but the Scheduler runs and works on expected Port 1355X?
By default, the Insight Scheduler Service runs on a version-specific Port. For example, Insight 5.3.X Scheduler runs on default Port 13553, while Insight 5.4.X Scheduler runs on default Port 13554.
But when you examine your “AltoSoft.Insight.Scheduler.exe.config” file it shows a "SchedulerPort" value of "13501”.
The Scheduler service uses Port 13501 as an “auto-select/detect” port in Insight 5.X platform to help avoid conflicts with 4.X or other side-by-side installation scenarios. If desired you can enter any desired free Port in the “AltoSoft.Insight.Scheduler.exe.config” file (other than the auto-select value of 13501) for better clarity, or if a Port conflict exists with some other 3rd party service.

Note: The specific Port (13553, 13554, etc.) your Scheduler is running on should always be explicitly configured in your Project’s “Scheduler configuration” settings (which is also the default behavior for new Projects). Do not enter Port 13501 in your Project’s “Scheduler configuration” settings.
Note: An easy way to verify what is listening on what Port, you can run the following command from an Administrative Command Prompt: netstat -a -b
