Insight's Historical Data Load Feature

Article # 3040821 - Page views: 13

What is the intent for Historical Data Load in the Data Load feature and how can it be best utilized?

This feature provides efficient data loading of large amounts of historical data. It accomplishes this by loading data in "chunks" over several intervals.

With respect to the Historic Interval settings, most customers want to see the most recent historical data first, therefore, the To and From dates may appear to be backwards when actually it is as designed. As an example, data can be loaded from year 2019 to 1950 and then limit the loads by quarter or month to minimize production impact to users – depending on how much data is ingested. If preferred, the load can be configured to load chronologically instead of reverse-chronological order.
