'Couldn't check database' When Logging into KAFC Dashboard (Windows Authentication)

Question / Problem: 

When using Windows authentication for dashboard access, a particular user receives the following error: ‘Couldn’t check database’. Insight’s WcfDataService log also reports ‘Project with id 00000000-0000-0000-0000-000000000000 is not found.’ What is causing this and how is it resolved?

Answer / Solution: 

This error may occur if a change was recently made to the user’s Windows AD account (added or removed from groups). KAFC requires a user to log into a Kofax Capture module, such as Batch Manager, in order to update the user’s record before accessing the KAFC dashboard after such change is made.

If that doesn’t resolve the issue, remove the linked user from batch classes and modules in Kofax Capture Admin module. Then re-link that user, have the user log into a KC module, and retest.
