Application-defined or object-defined error when setting up CTX Release Script

QAID # 15839 Published
Question / Problem:
When attempting to set up the CTX Release Script in the Administration module, why is an
"Application-defined or object-defined error [frmSetup.ctlCAPContainer_SettingsSave() line 0]"
exception displayed?
Answer / Solution:
This is because the CTX Release Script references KfxVar.dll
, which is no longer a part of Capture.
To work around this issue, copy the KfxVar.dll file from a Kofax Capture 8.0 installation (from the C:\Program Files\Kofax\Capture\BIN
folder) to the new Capture system, then run:
regsvr32 KfxVar.dll
Please Note that Customizable Text Release Script (CTX) is provided "as-is", and is not a product supported by Kofax. The above workaround is provided to work around the fact that this Release Script / Export Connector is no longer supported / functional with the new releases of Kofax Capture. Be sure to test this out fully in a test environment before attempting to use the Export Connector in production.
