No error message is available error when publishing Batch Class

Question / Problem:

When publishing a Batch Class, the following error message is encountered:

“No error message is available”.

How can I resolve this issue?

Answer / Solution:

This error can be thrown if there is an issue with accessing the Database Validation.

First review QAID 14736 to verify whether or not it applies, and if you are not using an Access database, verify that you can open the Database Validation configuration.

Removing, re-adding, and then reconfiguring the Database Validation has been seen to be required to resolve this error.
