Question / Problem:

I receive the following error message when opening Batch Manager:

"[3566] KdoLib: Network I/O error.: ORA-12154: TNS: could not resolve the connect identifier specified".

The Oracle Database is installed on a 64-bit Operating System (OS). The error only occurs on Kofax Capture machines that run on a 64-bit OS with the 32-bit ODAC 10.2.0.2.21 client. Kofax Capture machines that run on a 32-bit OS function correctly.

How can I resolve this issue?

Answer / Solution:

There may be an issue using a 32-bit ODAC installed on a 64-bit Kofax Capture machine to connect to a 64-bit Oracle database. Contact your Oracle support representative to determine if the ODAC version that you are using can be configured to operate in this environment. Capture communicates using the Oracle .NET Data Provider component.

When configuring Kofax Capture in an Oracle environment, the 32-bit versions of the Oracle database as well as the client connector (ODAC client) is the certified configuration. This applies to both 32-bit and 64-bit operating systems.
