Kofax Capture Export service starts then stops and does not stay running

What can cause an issue where the Kofax Capture Export service starts then stops and does not stay running?

 

How can I resolve this issue?

 

Answer / Solution: 

This issue can be caused by the Kofax Capture Export service being configured to use the LocalSystem account but was installed without the –u and –p parameters to specify the Kofax Capture user.

 

To resolve this issue, follow the steps below:

1. Uninstall the existing Kofax Capture Export service using the following command:

 

> Release.exe -uninstall

 

2. Install the new Kofax Capture Export service using the following command with the –u and –p parameters to specify the Kofax Capture user:

 

Example:

> Release.exe -install -u:"Admin" -p:"password"

 

3. Start the new Kofax Capture Export service.
