Issue
How can I configure IIS 7 on 64-bit OS to enable 32-bit applications to run when setting up Kofax Capture Network Server (KCNS)?
Solution
Follow the steps below to configure IIS 7 on 64-bit OS to enable 32-bit applications to run:
- Start ¦ Run ¦ enter
InetMgr
. - Select Application Pools under the Web Server name in the left window.
- In the Application Pools window, right-click DefaultAppPool and select Advanced Settings.
- Under the General section, set Enable 32-Bit Applications to
True
.
Also make sure that .NET Framework Version is set to v2.0. - Click OK to save the changes.
- Restart IIS 7.
Note: KCNS must run in 32-bit mode.
The following errors are observed If KCNS is installed on a 64-bit OS and not configured to allow 32-bit applications to run:
Central Site error when testing the DEBUG Urls: HTTP Status 500 - The server encountered an internal error
Remote Site Error when attempting to convert to a Remote Site: Invalid server name or address. Verify the entered KCN Server URL (http:///acis) is correct and the Web server is currently available.
