Issue

Various errors have been seen in customer environments when anti-virus and software monitoring applications are installed, due to its interaction with files and Kofax Capture file processing.

The error messages may differ depending on the module affected and where in the process the problem occurs.

Cause

Anti-virus and software monitoring applications

Solution

To eliminate these problems, administrators can create an Application Whitelist in the anti-virus and monitoring application to exclude Kofax Capture and ImageControls executables from the scanning process.

Please refer to the anti-virus and monitoring application documentation for information regarding Whitelist configuration.

Any additional Release Scripts, Custom Modules or applications should also be included in the Whitelist.

The following is a short list of common executables to Whitelist:

\CaptureSS\ImgCtrsl\Bin

  • CdViewer.exe
  • ErrorCfg.exe
  • Resolve.exe
  • VCDem32p.exe
  • VrsServer.exe

  • Ocr.exe
  • Ops.exe
  • Qc.exe
  • Release.exe
