Question / Problem:
When attempting to install a Fix Pack for Kofax Capture 10.x, the following error message is displayed in the Application Event Log:
Error 1722. There is a problem with this Windows Installer package. A program run as part of the setup did not finish as expected. Contact your support personnel or package vendor. Action Patching Database (Patch), location: C:\Program Files (x86)\Kofax\CaptureSS\ServLib\Bin\Dbutil.exe, command: /Patch /Server.
How can I resolve this issue?
Answer / Solution:
Check the machine's
Kofax Registry Key, and verify that the
LocalPath path is valid and set to our default value:
HKLM\Software\Wow6432Node\Kofax Image Products\Ascent Capture\3.0
This value should be similar to:
A ProcMon trace may reveal that certain folders may be missing if this is customized (PubTypes in one case).
Note: Modifying this Registry value is not supported by Kofax.
