Question / Problem:
When attempting to install a Service or Fix Pack, the following error message is observed:
YYYY-MM-DD HH:MM:SS, 0x00000018, 0, 0x80040FF6, 0x00000000, 0x00000000, Drive:\Program Files\Kofax\CaptureSS\ServLib\Bin, DBUtil, hostname:Sess 2, 10.00.5013, Utilities.PatchDatabases, 0, KdoLib: KdoLib: Error executing SQL command. Cannot find the object 'prcStatsModuleLaunchBuf', because it does not exist or you do not have permission. The ALL permission is deprecated and maintained only for compatibility. It DOES NOT imply ALL permissions defined on the entity.
Answer / Solution:
This issue occurred because the SQL Server account used to authenticate against the Capture database did not have permissions under the ‘Master’ database of the Database Instance.
Adding the SQL Server account under the 'Master' database should allow the Service/Fix pack to install, and patch the Capture database successfully.
