CustomAction Patching Database returned actual error code 529697949 during Capture 10 Service Pack 2 install

Question / Problem:

When updating Kofax Capture 10 to SP2, the installation fails at the step when dbutil.exe should be runand the following error is logged in the msiexec installation log:

CustomAction Patching Database (Patch) returned actual error code -529697949

Answer / Solution:

It was found out that in registry of that system the wrong Serverpath was set. Therefore check HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Kofax Image Products\Ascent Capture\3.0\Serverpath-value if its pointing to the correct share.
