Installation not supported for use with the currently installed version of Kofax Capture

Question / Problem: 

When attempting to install a Fix Pack for Kofax Capture, then an error is encountered: 

The installation cannot continue because
"KofaxCapture-10.2.1.6.msp" is not supported for use with the 
currently installed version of Kofax Capture. 

Why is this error encountered and what are the steps to resolve or complete the installation?

Answer / Solution: 

This error can be caused by insufficient permissions required to run components of the Fix Pack installer.  

Use Process Monitor to determine if there is any ACCESS DENIED results.
 - Local Administrator rights are required for the installation to proceed without issue.
