Internal Error 2753 AppInit.exe when installing Capture

Question / Problem:

When trying to install Kofax Capture, the installation fails with an error message stating Internal Error 2753. AppInit.exe.

How can I resolve this issue?

Answer / Solution:

This issue might occur if there is old data from previous KC installations present.

Please verify that the Kofax Capture installation folder with files does not already exist. If it does exist, delete it, and retry the installation.
