Handle is Invalid error in the ERR YYMM.txt log file at the Capture 10.1 Central Site


Question / Problem: 

How can I resolve an issue where the KCN Service is reporting the following error in the ERR_YYMM.txt log file at the Central Site?


2015-10-27 10:22:39, 0x00000018, 0x00000000, 0x80131500, 0x00000000, 0x00000000, D:\Program Files (x86)\Kofax\Capture\Bin, ACSvc, <Server Name>, 10.1.1043.0, mscorlib, 0, ACISV: The handle is invalid.

Answer / Solution: 

This issue was fixed starting in Kofax Capture 10.1 Service Pack 1 Fix Pack 10 ( which includes the following fix:


673436 - KCN Service reporting error at central site - "ACISV: The handle is invalid."

Please note that the entire KCNS environment would need to be updated to Kofax Capture 10.1 Service Pack 1 Fix Pack 10 or higher.
