Question / Problem:
Modules in a KCNS environment are taking a long time to open and the error log is full of errors such as
C:\Program Files (x86)\Kofax\CaptureSS\ServLib\Bin, ACIRsa, , 6.0.0, clsLicenseSync.SynchronizeVolume , 0,   SALicClnt: Unable to connect to license server. The license server may be down or the network may have problems. (The request timed out. ()), ,
What could be causing this?
Answer / Solution:
This issue can be caused by McAfee Anti-virus locking the license files and preventing the KC Service from reading or writing them.
To resolve this issue, add an exclusion in McAfee to stop it from scanning or monitoring the following Kofax Capture folders:
- C:\Program Files (x86)\Kofax\CaptureSS
- C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Kofax
- C:\ProgramData\Kofax Image Products
