Request Timed Out Error 4904 while synchronizing batch classes

Question / Problem:

I am receiving the error message:

(4904) Error while synchronizing batch classes: (-2146233077) The request timed out., Central Site: <CentralSiteServerName>, Station ID: <StationID> (<StationID>).

The Remote Synchronization Agent (RSA) reports the error in the message window.

How can I resolve this issue?

Answer / Solution:

The Kofax error log is also showing the following error message:

(x86)\Kofax\CaptureSS\ServLib\Bin, ACSvc, , 9.0.1372.0, DeserializeSharedProfileXML at

, 0, There is an error in XML document (0, 0)

This error is caused by a corruption of the CaptureSV\SharedScannerProfiles folder.

  1. At the Remote Site(s), stop the RSA and Kofax-related services and modules.
  2. At the Central Site, stop the Kofax Capture Service, back up and delete the contents of the CaptureSV\SharedScannerProfiles folder, and then restart the Kofax Capture Service.
  3. At the Central Site and the Remote Site(s), make sure that the following line exists in the CaptureSV\Config\ACConfig.xml file:
        <ACIServer DisableSharingProfiles="1">
  4. Start the RSA at the Remote Site(s) and Kofax-related services at the Central Site, then resynchronize via the RSA and the issue should be resolved.
