Cannot Check Licenses In or Out From a Remote Site AcLicImp 8033 error at Central Site


Question / Problem: 

When attempting to launch modules at the Central Site server, then an error is received indicating the machine is incorrectly configured as a Remote Site Server: 

  • [8033] AcLicImp: You cannot check licenses in or out from a Remote Site.

Is this a known issue and is there any workaround or permanent solution?  

Answer / Solution: 

There is a known bug for which there is a permanent solution available beginning with Fix Pack 1 of Kofax Capture 11.0 (KC11.0.0.1), and a Workaround, as follows: 

  • Bug 1057821:Pointing a remote server license to the central site license server causes the central license to receive an expiration date

Workaround: There are three (3) available workarounds to the License Issue: 

A) Identify which Remote Site(s) has ACConfig.xml configured with the Central Site as the License Server; correct that misconfiguration where needed.
B) Reinstall Kofax Capture at the Central Site, if Workaround 'A' is unavailable.
C) Contact Kofax Technical Support with access to the Central Site for manual troubleshooting assistance.

The permanent solution is for Kofax Capture to be upgraded to KC or newer version.
