Question / Problem:
When is the BatchID assigned to a batch?
Answer / Solution:
The BatchID is assigned to a batch at the moment the batch is created. The BatchID is a number, with each new batch assigned an incrementing number.
Usually when a user sees a batches BatchID, it is in the form of the batch database filename or the foldername containing that batches image files. The batch database filename and the batches image foldername are expressed in hexadecimal form in order to allow unique filenames and foldernames for billions of batches within a standard eight-character filename or foldername.
