Question / Problem:
Why do I receive the following error message:
"Kofax Capture - <ModuleName> is already running on this workstation. Only one instance is allowed."
when trying to open any module?
Answer / Solution:
First try to reboot the station reporting the message.
This problem normally occurs because of permissions problems. Please verify that the logged in user has full access to the server's \Kofax folders (\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Kofax\CaptureSV) and the client's \Program Files\Kofax folders.
The logged-in user must also be able to write to the Registry the first time that they try to use each Kofax Capture module. The portion of the Registry that the user must be able to edit is found in:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER/SOFTWARE/Kofax Image Products
If this does not remedy the problem, then browse to the \Program Files\Kofax\Local directory. In the \Local directory, delete any files with the extension of .SEM then try opening the module again.
