Modules delay or fail to close after disabling Reporting
QAID # 17662 Published
Question / Problem:
I have applied QAID 17525 to disable Reporting function on Kofax Capture 10 Service Pack 1 or later. However, Kofax Capture module processes (Batch Manager, Recognition Server, etc.) still encounter a delay to close / disappear from the Task Manager ¦ Processes tab.
How can I resolve this issue?
Answer / Solution:
It has been observed that a Process Monitor (ProcMon) trace will show an ACCESS DENIED
error on one of the following paths when the problem occurs:
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Microsoft\Crypto\RSA\MachineKeys\517efac85db7042e2b9ae54b76f4e58d_xxxxxxxx-xxxx-xxxx-
xxxx-xxxxxxxxxxxx
or
C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Crypto\RSA\MachineKeys\517efac85db7042e2b9ae54b76f4e58d_xxxxxxxx-
xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxxxxxxxxxx
Granting full access to one of the above paths (the one with the ACCESS DENIED
error in the ProcMon trace) should resolve this issue.
