Question / Problem:
What is the cause of the following error message:
"ocr32ex.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience."?
Answer / Solution:
It is likely that the image size (physical page size), on which OCR Full Text was attempted, was too large for the scan resolution (DPI).
The maximum page sizes for OCR Full Text are as follows:
|Full Text OCR Page Size Limits|
|200 DPI||162 x 162 in.|
|300 DPI||108 x 108 in.|
|400 DPI||81 x 81 in.|
|600 DPI||54 x 54 in.|
|1200 DPI||27 x 27 in.|
NOTE: The maximum image size supported by the engine is 32,512 x 32,512 pixels. This corresponds to 162 x 162 inches for 200 DPI resolution.
But please also note that opening large images consumes a lot of memory. For example, opening a 162- inched colorful image would require ~ 4 GB free RAM on the target workstation and ~1 GB for a grayscale image.
