Why is Kofax VRS required to be installed on all Kofax Capture servers and workstations?

Solution

Kofax VRS must be installed on all Kofax Cature servers and workstations.  Reasons include:

• Kofax Capture is an ImageControls-based application and the ImageControls libraries are included in the Kofax VRS installation
• Kofax Capture relies on the Kofax VRS ImageControls KScan Control for scanning, importing, storing, and exporting images
• Kofax Capture relies on the Kofax VRS ImageControls KImgP Control to process images
• Kofax Capture relies on the Kofax VRS ImageControls KView Control to view images
• Kofax Capture relies on Kofax VRS libraries for PDF import and conversion to TIFF images
• Kofax Capture relies on Kofax VRS libraries for image format conversion
• Kofax Capture relies on the Kofax VRS Standard Bar Code engine and Enhanced Bar Code engine to perform bar code recognition
• Kofax Capture relies on the Kofax VRS Patch Code recognition engine to perform document separation
