Issue

Why are Microsoft Access Database Engine 2010 components installed with Capture?

Is it safe to uninstall as this is deprecated by Microsoft?

Answer

The following features use the MS Access DB Engine and are broken without it:

• Database Export Connector
• Database Lookup from .accdb file format. (ODBC lookup remains intact).

This is only required if you are using a Database Export Connector or Database validation to Microsoft Access in your Batch Class, if not used, this is not required.

Notes:

Database Export Connector will still work after uninstalling Microsoft Access Database Engine 2010 and installing a newer Microsoft Access Database Engine version.

Installing a newer Microsoft Access Database Engine version does not replace the existing Microsoft Access Database Engine 2010 version which would need to be removed manually.
