Support for Microsoft Updates to Default SQL Server Express Database

Does Kofax support MS updates for default SQL Server Express database?

Solution

Kofax supports all official Microsoft updates for the supported SQL Server Express versions.

Default database is SQL Server Express 2014, but all supported versions of SQL Server can be also used with their related express version:

Supported Microsoft SQL Server for KC 11.0:

• SQL Server 2019 (Express, Standard, Enterprise Editions) - only with SP 1 for KC 11.0
• SQL Server 2017 (Express, Standard, Enterprise Editions)
• SQL Server 2016 (Express, Standard, Enterprise Editions)

Supported Microsoft SQL Server for KC 11.1:

• SQL Server 2019 Express, Standard, Enterprise
• SQL Server 2017 Express, Standard, Enterprise
• SQL Server 2016 Express, Standard, Enterprise
• SQL Server 2014 Express, Standard, Business Intelligence, Enterprise
• SQL Server 2012 Express, Standard, Business Intelligence, Enterprise

NOTE: Business Intelligence and Enterprise versions of SQL Server require Kofax Enterprise License.
