Bad filename or number error when attempting to import an image

Question / Problem:

Importing an image results in the following error:

"An error occurred while importing the file '[path to TIF image]' Bad filename or number"?

Answer / Solution:

The error "Bad filename or number" will occur when you are scanning or importing a page, but the Image Folder defined for the Batch Class is inaccessible.

On the affected workstation, attempt to browse to the Image Folder defined for the Batch Class. If you cannot reach the folder, or if you are prompted for a Windows user name and password, then the folder is not accessible from the affected workstation. If you are in fact able to access the folder, verify that you can create a file in that folder.

Change the sharing settings of the Image Folder, or select a more available Image Folder for the Batch Class.
