File Not Found when selecting files to Software Import

Question / Problem: 

What may cause issues when attempting Software Import of the Scan module, then the files selected within the Files to Import menu results with an error message: 

File not found: 
"C:\."

Answer / Solution: 

This behavior could be caused by the Operating System locking behavior.  A Process Monitor trace should show with Access Violation when attempting the Software Import of the file locked by another resource.  

Steps to resolve:

A) Identify the resource(s) locking the affected file and End Task via TaskMgr as needed
 - Note: Using the Microsoft SysInternals Process Monitor Utility with a filter recommendation (Result / Is / Access Violation) should show such resources

B) OR: Reboot the affected machine to sever any cached connections from the Operating System layer
