Host processor exception error 20441 when scanning or importing in Scan Module

Question / Problem:

I am receiving the following error message in the Scan module when scanning in documents with either Software Import or the scanner:

Host processor exception., Error originally reported by Image Controls: 20441.

I have looked at the other knowledge base articles that mention an issue with EBC configurations or Windows User Profiles, but they have not helped.

Is there something else we can try?

Answer / Solution:

It has been observed that deleting and recreating the Software Import scan source in the Scanner Configuration Utility, and selecting Create Standard Sources can resolve this issue when using a scanner or Software Import in the Scan module.
