Unable to Open Module error when launching scan based modules

Question / Problem: 

When attempting to launch scan-based modules for Kofax Capture (Scan, Quality Control, Vallidation, Verification, etc), then there is an error received and module does not launch.

"Unable to open Module"

Scan Sources are all present within Scanner Configuration Utility - File Import. How can this issue be resolved?

Answer / Solution: 

This issue can be caused by a corrupt Scan Source where the Virtual ReScan Test Application (VCDemo.exe) was missing Scan Sources for File Import which were shown in the Scanner Configuration Utility.  Recreating the File Import Scan Sources from the Scanner Configuration Utility may resolve issues with corrupt Scan Sources.

Steps to resolve:

  1. Launch VCDemo.exe; select 'Source' and 'File Import' for a review of the scan sources
  2. Note any missing sources
  3. Launch Scanner Configuration Utility; Drill-down to 'Other - File Import' and select 'Configure Sources'
  4. Delete the Scan Source missing in Step #1
  5. Select the 'Create Standard Sources' button and confirm the missing scan source is created.
