7001 SALicCInt The Input Stream is not a Valid Binary Format Error

Issue

I'm trying to activate my Software License in Kofax capture License Utility but I'm getting the following error message:-

[7001] SALicCInt: The input stream is not a valid binary format.
The starting contents (in bytes) are:
3C-21-44-4F-43-54-59-50-45-20-68-74-6D-6C-20-50-55 ...

The "Activate" option is also greyed out.

Cause

This is often caused by a Server Proxy preventing the communication Kofax Capture License Service.

Solution

To resolve this issue, follow the steps below:
1. Launch Internet Explorer.
2. Go to Tools > Internet Options.
3. Click on the Connections tab.
4. Click on LAN settings.
5. Uncheck “Use proxy server for your LAN” option under the Proxy server section then click Ok.
6. Click Ok to close out of Internet Options.
7. Re-launch License Utility.
