Issue

What does the following error message mean and how can this issue be resolved?

Cause

This can be caused by network timeouts, network layer or application layer security that is marking this port 2424 traffic as suspicious, or connection limits being exceeded

The above error message indicates that a .NET Remoting call to the license server was started but was unexpectedly terminated. This is a disruption in communications with the license service.

Verify that no network issues exist and PING times are reasonable. In some cases, configuring Kofax products to function in a WAN environment without using Kofax Capture Network Server can also cause this disruption.
