Scan module doesn't start anymore

Issue
Some users are not able to start the Scan module anymore. Nothing happens, there are no error messages. How can we solve this?
Solution
Please do the following:
- Open regedit and go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Kofax Image Products\Workflow Independent Capture\Ascent Capture - Scan
- Export the folder Ascent Capture - Scan.
- Delete the folder Ascent Capture - Scan.
- Restart Scan.
