Software Import Source Does Not Support Scanner Patch Code Recognition and Scanner Bar Code Recognition

Issue

Launching Scan Module results in the following warning message:

The "Software Import" source does not support some of the specified settings.  Kofax Capture will import with the following modifications:

- Scanner patch code recognition has been disabled

- Scanner bar code recognition has been disabled

Cause

This issue can occur if the batch class is configured to enable a physical scanner's patch code reader and bar code reader.  Since a software import source does not use a physical scanner, these settings are not compatible with a software import source.

Solution

To prevent this warning from appearing when using a software import source:

1. Log into the Kofax Capture Administration Console
    
2. Right-click on the batch class and select Properties
    
3. Select the Queues tab
    
4. Select the Scan queue and click Properties
    
5. In the General tab, under Scanner Support, uncheck the checkboxes for Patch Code Reader and Bar Code Reader
    
6. Click OK
    
7. Republish the batch class
