No dll was found in the waterfall procedure Error loading IPPSP library when launching Validation

QAID # 17655 Published

Question / Problem:

I receive the following error message when trying to launch the Validation module:

Error at loading of IPPSP library, no dll was found in the waterfall procedure.

Answer / Solution:

When the issue occurs, the Kofax Capture modules cannot be launched from the command prompt by typing the module executable file name, for example: index.exe for the Validation module, ops.exe for the Batch Manager module, etc.

To resolve this issue:

  1. Open a Command Prompt and run the path command. This should list the Windows System Variables.
There should be two Kofax System Variables similar to the following:
    C:\Program Files\Kofax\CaptureSS\ServLib\ImgCtls\bin;C:\Program Files\Kofax\CaptureSS\ServLib\bin
    C:\Program Files\Kofax\Capture\ImgCtls\bin;C:\Program Files\Kofax\Capture\bin
  2. Make sure that the Kofax System Variable is not truncated. If it is truncated, go to Control Panel ¦ System ¦ Advanced ¦ Environment Variables ¦ System Variables ¦ Path, and edit the truncated Kofax System Variable to be like one of the above examples.
  3. Click OK and apply the change.
