Question / Problem:
Is it possible to obtain the Confidence Level of a Form ID or Index Field's Index Zone and release this value along with the Document?
Answer / Solution:
Yes. Export will not be able to directly access the Confidence Level on a Form ID or Index Field's Index Zone, but it is possible to export these values through a workaround process involving the use of scripts.
Document-level Index Field zones are available within a Document through a Validation Script. Each of these Index Fields will have an associated variable for the value and an associated variable for the confidence level in the script. The value of the confidence level variable can be written to a Document Index Field within the Validation Script, and this Index Field released.
For example, a Index Field named “Alpha” will have the associated variables “KfxAlpha” for the Index field’s value and “KfxCLAlpha” for the Index Field’s Confidence Level value.
Form ID Zones are not available within a Validation Script. These are only used during Recognition, and the value cannot be altered during Validation. The workaround to this limitation is to use both a Recognition Script on the Form ID Zone’s associated Recognition Profile, and a Validation Script.
A Recognition Script includes the variable “KfxConfidence” which is the value of the Confidence Level for the zone. This value can be written to a file outside of Kofax Capture. This file can then be opened by a Validation script to access the Confidence Level on the Form ID Zone(s). The Validation Script can assign these values to Document-level Index Fields, whose values can then be released.
