Semi-automate the Validation process

QAID # 3527 Published

Question / Problem:

How can I semi-automate the Validation process?

Answer / Solution:

You can create a Validation Script with a saveandskip function. Please refer to the Softbridge Index Scripts for Ascent Capture page, and click the SaveAndSkipDocument example link for sample saveandskip SBL code.

You can also specify the behavior of the Validation module after it finishes a batch.

To do so:

  1. Open the Validation module.
  2. Select Tools ¦ Options from the menu.
  3. On the General tab, select from the following options for the End of Batch Behavior:
    • Prompt before closing batch
Check this check box if you want to be prompted "Are you sure you want to close this batch" when you choose to close a batch.
    • Open next batch automatically
Check this check box if you want the next batch to be opened when you close a batch.
    • Poll for next batch (seconds)
Check this check box if you want the Validation module to automatically poll for new batches. If there are no waiting batches, the Validation module will keep watch for the arrival of the next batch and automatically open it. If this box is checked, you can then set the polling interval from 1 to 86400 seconds. The polling interval defaults to 60 seconds.
    • Include suspended batches
Check this check box if you want suspended batches to be automatically opened. If this box is not checked, then only Ready batches will be opened. By default, this check box is not checked.
