Question / Problem:
I am using the Windows Explorer DM Extension to view my primary images, secondary images, PDF files, and eDocuments in Hummingbird DM; why do they display in the Versions tab?
Answer / Solution:
Primary images, secondary images, PDF files, and eDocuments submitted to Hummingbird DM will display in the Versions tab when viewed via Windows Explorer DM Extension. The images, PDF files, and eDocuments receive a unique hexadecimal number as a version label as seen in Figure 12 located in the Ascent 6.0 Release Script for Hummingbird DM 5.0-5.1 Release Notes.
This is a visual limitation of the Hummingbird API since the attachment name begins with numeric characters rather than alphabetical characters.
Workaround: You can use Windows Explorer DM Extension to view the images, PDF files, and eDocuments, as they will display as attachments. The Comments area displays the original file name and the version to which the image, PDF file, or eDocument is linked.
