Issue
How to enable HTML5-based file upload in the Kofax Front Office Server (KFS) 4.3 Thin Client so that users do not need to download WebCapture Service to upload files to the Thin Client
Cause
In the general release version of Kofax Front Office Server (KFS) 4.3, file import functionality is provided by the WebCapture Service, which must be installed on the client PC.
Fix Pack 8 for KFS 4.3 adds the ability to use HTML5-based file upload, which allows the user to import files into the KFS Thin Client without having to install WebCapture Service. WebCapture Service remains the default way to import files, but the KFS Administrator can enable HTML5 file upload.
Solution
To enable HTML5 file upload:
- Install Fix Pack 8 or higher for KFS 4.3 on all KFS servers in the environment.
- Log into the KFS Administration Console
- Navigate to Settings | Advanced
- In the
kfsportal.properties
namespace, set theenable.html5.upload
value totrue
- Click
Save
- The change will take effect the next time users log into the Thin Client.
