Ricoh MFP Client Configure to Use HTTP

Issue

Ricoh MFP Client cannot connect to Kofax Front Office Server (KFS) server over HTTP, resulting in the following error:

Cannot connect to server. There is a network problem, or the disk on the server is full.

Cause

The Ricoh MFP Client attempts to connect to the KFS server via HTTPS (which is the default behavior), but IIS and KFS on the KFS server are configured to accept only HTTP communications.

 

Solution 1

To configure the Ricoh MFP Client to Communicate with the KFS Server Using HTTP:

  1. Uninstall or Unregister the Ricoh MFP Client from the MFP device.

  2. Log in to the KFS Administration Console.

  3. Navigate to Settings ¦ Advanced.

  4. In thekfs.propertiesnamespace, change the ProxyServerProtocol value tohttp.

  5. Click Save.

  6. Deploy, install, or register the Ricoh MFP Client to the desired Ricoh MFP device using the instructions in the Kofax Front Office Server Administrator's Guide for Ricoh MFPs.
     

Solution 2

Configure the KFS server to accept HTTPS communication
