Please wait while Windows configures Kofax VRS error after Upgrading KFS from 4.0 to 4.1


Question / Problem:

After upgrading from Kofax Front Office Server (KFS) 4.0 to 4.1, attempts to open the Kofax Capture Administration module, Scan module, QC module, and VCDemo on the KFS 4.1 Server result in the following error messages:

The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable. Click OK to try again, or enter an alternate path to a folder containing the installation package 'Kofax VRS.msi' in the box below.

Answer / Solution:

This issue can occur when upgrading from KFS 4.0 to KFS 4.1 on a system that has Kofax Capture 10.1 or 10.0 with VRS 5.1 installed, and is documented in TFS 562252.

To resolve this issue, install Fix Pack 1 or higher for KFS 4.1.

To prevent this issue from occurring, install Fix Pack 18 or higher for KFS 4.0.1 prior to upgrading to KFS 4.1.
