Which Kofax Front Office Server (KFS) 4.x and SQL Server logs should be collected and analyzed when troubleshooting SQL Server Database installation or migration issues during the KFS 4.x installation process?

Answer / Solution:

When troubleshooting SQL Server Database installation or migration issues, both KFS 4.x and SQL Server write logs that may contain useful information. If present, the following logs should be collected and analyzed to determine the cause of the installation or migration issue:

  • C:\ProgramData\Kofax\Front Office Server\DatabaseUtility.log
  • C:\ProgramData\Kofax\Front Office Server\DatabaseUtilityError.log
  • C:\Users\<UserID>\AppData\Local\Temp\kfsdberrors.log
  • C:\Users\<UserID>\AppData\Local\Temp\SqlSetup_Local.log
  • C:\Users\<UserID>\AppData\Local\Temp\SqlSetup.log
  • The entire contents of the following folder:
    • C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft SQL Server\100\Setup Bootstrap\Log
