Canon MFP Client icon not displayed on MFP Front Panel

Question / Problem:

After installing and started the KFS application on the Canon MFP device, the Kofax Button isn't displayed on the MFP device. What is causing it and how can be fixed?

Answer / Solution:

This issue can occur if the Authentication is set after installing and starting the Kofax Canon MFP Client in the device's MEAP web interface.  Authentication must be set after the Kofax Canon MFP Client has been installed, but prior to starting the client.

 

The correct installation/configuration order is:

  1. Log into the Canon device's MEAP web interface.
  2. Install Kofax Canon MFP Client and its Canon MEAP license 
  3. Set Authentication for the Kofax Canon MFP Client
  4. Start the Kofax Canon MFP Client
  5. Restart the Canon MFP device
  6. Launch the Kofax Canon MFP Client on the MFP device's front panel

 

To resolve this issue without reinstalling the Kofax Canon MFP Client:

  1. Log into the Canon device's MEAP web interface
  2. Stop the Kofax Canon MFP Client
  3. Set Authentication for the Kofax Canon MFP Client
  4. Start the Kofax Canon MFP Client
  5. Restart the Canon MFP device
  6. Launch the Kofax Canon MFP Client on the MFP device's front panel
