Canon ScanFront 330 Failed to allocate Canon Device License Error when opening Kofax MFP Client


Question / Problem: 

Attempts to log into the Kofax Front Office Server (KFS) 4.1 Canon MFP Client on a Canon ScanFront 330 network scanner results in the following error:
Operation failed. Error: Failed to allocate 1 Canon Device licenses [8010]. AcLicImp: License not found. Your current license does not support this feature. ( Device - Canon)

Answer / Solution: 

The Canon ScanFront 330 should not require a KFS Device - Canon license since it is not a MEAP device. This issue has been documented in TFS #754518 and was resolved in KFS (Service Pack 1, Fix Pack 3).

To resolve this issue, install KFS or higher and re-register the Canon ScanFront 330 device(s).
