Canon ScanFront 330 cannot connect to KFS server

Question / Problem: 

Why does the Canon ScanFront 330 scanning device not connect to KFS after successful device registration?

Answer / Solution: 

The issue can occur if the IIS User Accounts do not have permission to access the following path:  

/Kofax/BrowserDevice/Scanfront.aspx

To resolve this issue:

  1. Open IIS manager
  2. Navigate to Sites | Default Web Site | Kofax and expand the Kofax application tree.
  3. Right-click theBrowserDevice folder and select Edit Permissions.
  4. Add the IIS_IUSRS and IUSR accounts and grant them each read permissions to the BrowserDevice folder.
