I have installed KFS in IIS with default settings and want to switch now to https. Do i need to reinstall or is there a way to switch to https access without the need of reinstalling?

Yes, it is possible with following procedure:
The installation program identifies the type of binding (http or https) of the selected website and configures the setting automatically. Kofax Front Office Server uses this binding for the links to applications like Administration Console and Thin Client. You can change this binding after installation by using KFSConfig.exe.
To configure the KFS communication binding using KFSConfig.exe:
- Open a command prompt "as Administrator".
- Enter the following command to navigate to the kfsService folder (example uses default KFS 4.3 installation location):
cd "C:\Program Files (x86)\Kofax\Front Office Server 4.3\kfsService"
- Enter the following command:
