Question / Problem:
When attempting to import images into the Kofax Front Office Server (KFS) 4.0 or 4.1 Thin Client, the Browse button is missing from the "Import Page" dialog box.
Answer / Solution:
This issue can occur if Adobe Flash is installed on the client PC, but the Shockwave Flash Object add-on is disabled in Internet Explorer's Add-On Manager.
If Flash is installed on the client PC, KFS will use Flash's file upload utility, which allows users to select multiple files for upload. If Flash is not installed, KFS will use Internet Explorer's file upload utility, which limits the user to selecting a single file for upload.
If Flash is installed but the add-on is disabled in Internet Explorer, KFS will see that Flash is installed and attempt to call the disabled Shockwave Flash Object. This issue has been documented in TFS 309823.
The workaround is to enable the Shockwave Flash Object in Internet Explorer's Add-On Manager.
An alternate workaround is to completely uninstall Adobe Flash from the client PC, which will limit the user to selecting a single file for upload.
