Subfolders not deleted from watched folder after imported files deleted

Question / Problem:

KIC import files are deleted from the Watch Folder, but the subfolders are left empty and not deleted automatically as configured.

How can I resolve this issue?

Answer / Solution:

If KIC has the Watch Folder configured with a UNC path using the IP Address instead of a network name format:

\\xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx\KICED\WatchFolder\SubFolder

then subfolders will not be deleted.

To resolve this issue, go to “Import Connectors” configuration and change the connection for the Watch Folder's IP Address to the UNC domain name:

\\ServerName\KICED\WatchFolder\SubFolder

The subfolder should be deleted next time the KIC-Plug-in imports the files.
