Settings to connect to Gmail with KIC

Issue

What Gmail settings are needed to allow KIC to connect to Gmail using either IMAP or POP?

 

Solution

In the Gmail settings, in the Forwarding and POP/IMAP tab, you will need to enable whichever protocol you intend to use. Then in your Google account settings, go the security section and make sure "Less secure app access" is turned on. Do a test mailbox in KCPlugin to verify you are now able to connect.
